Autocrossing is fun to do... once or twice... in my opinion.
You get to learn some car control at slower speeds, and
you learn how to adapt to the correct driving line to keep
your momentum constant. After that- the roadcourse and the
RX7 go together like PB&J. I've raced alot and I love to fly
down the backstratch at Sebring (140-155 m.p.h.), jump
on the binders, downshift into third, and rocket onto the
front stretch.
Once you learn the car- driving the roadcourses kicks ***

Just got back from buttonwillow... I wanted to add that, driving on the road course, you not only learn the control, very often you learn what happens when the car loses control. At the west loop of buttonwillow, the sharp 90 degree turn, just right before pit. Crashes happens there very often when people trying to save the turn when they enter it too hot. When the traction comes back all of sudden, the car will shoot towards the opposite direction and crash into the wall. The right way, or the safer way will be to let the car skid into the dirt, and then get back to the track after the car stabilizes...
These experiences doesn't come easily on regular street driving or autocrosses... Road course is definetly more fun.

it all depends on personal preference....
Some like Autocross, some like open track, I like them all. Its a very different experience...
If you like to go over 70mph hahahah its definetly on Track, not going to get it from Autocross.

ooops, the money discussion... i think its about the same... sometimes track event is cheaper, sometimes they can get pretty expensive. Trackquest is one well know expensive organizer... one weekend in Laguna Seca is over $700-$800 bucks!
But the Battle Swing event was only $150 (if i remember correctly), it will be cheaper than autocrossing. It all depends....
