Are Fc Steering Racks Hindering
#23
I am not trying to be super hero. The turn is just a fast turn, to even come to the point of breaking traction 95 mph is min. I did not think many of the turn on that track is possible but I after trying it a few I know it is possible. D1 may not be 90 but I don't think it is slower than 70mph. I drove the same course and by the time you come out of the oval you are way into third gear in a FC.

The racks are actually almost exactly the same. Jason from rx-7store.net just swapped in a manual rack from a FC into his FD. The only difference was the tie rod ends.
The FC and FD will drift well. I don't think the rack is a limitation at all.

This is a picture of the 4mm washer that most people use to get more steering travel. It also shows the normal trave of a S-13 and the travel with a 4MM washer.
If you notice the normal trave of the nissan is not so impressive........my FC has more travel than that with normal tie rods.
I am also in the process of scanning one with a modified knuckle......similar to the one DJ giantrobot posted.
