i don' tknow i went by that link. I would assume the CASC (canadian automolbile sportcar club) has about the same ruling. I just have fun at the local mazda sportcar of ontario club every 3 weeks.
But according to the link above. TII are classified in B stock if you have a stock car. And doing any mods puts you into B Stock Street Prepared.
Jim, what class are you running. I think i may have to pull out the apexi AVCR one day. But the little club i compete in don't give a **** since i'm 10 seconds off the fastest time in A-mod. Which i compete agaist miatas and NA rx-7s.
Sigh... i placed bad again last time. 88 of 97 competitors that day.

Thanks Jims great info. Other racers have recommended the same in other forums. Guess I'll take the advice and stick with what I've got.
Hey Cheers, I've never autocrossed a turbo before, but I imagine that you have very little low end power, which is so important in autox. Once you have become proficient in other areas, like choosing the best line, braking correctly for your car, etc. then you might want to try left foot braking. This allows you to keep the power on a little with your right foot while braking with your left. You have to use more brake but the payoff is the engine is raring to go on corner exit and in theory anyway doesn't have to spool back up as much.
This supposedly can help with turbos and low torque cars (like RX-7s). I'm going to give it a try with mine, although it will take some practice :-) Before I always ran V8s or torquy sixes and didn't need to. HTH!

You neednt be side hard on yourself. I been running for 14 years to get where I am at. Now i just need to keep the old girl together.
Maybe I will get a chance to help you with setup in near future.

a.) I SUCK
b.) things don't work so well after 195,000 kms
c.) my tires such ***.
I think it is mostly a, and a very little bit of a combo of b and c.
plus i suffer from the newbie syndrome of getting lost in a sea of orange cones. Maybe next year i'll run a higher car number so i can go marsh it once and watch to see other people's mistakes.

Cheers - Car set up is very important. But the driver is just as important. I do not know how close they come to you but look into Evolution driving school. They transformed me.

After taknig phase 1 and phase 2 I went from the middle of the pack to Mr. FTD.
They will cure you of getting lost on course. They teach you to look ahead and know where you are going. When you can look to where you want to be you will get there faster.
I wish you were not so far away it would be cool to help you out at an AutoX.
BTW - Our classing is a lot different. I wish we were in BSP here. We are indeed in ASP. I have bumped up to BP so I can run a boost controler and slicks. Its a very tough class though.
Remember seat time is GOLD in Autocrossing. You may race a whole season and still heve less than an hour of seat time.
You need to find a school. It is worth every penny especially when you go to your next AutoX and have a blast.

I agree driver is the most critical componant, but tires are a close second. Good tires make a huge difference. You are racing in a modified class? On crappy street tires? I think you could easily shave off several seconds just by getting some good tires ;-)

Hey all,
for my post here I`ll say what has been said many ,many times before.....seat time. A good tire or a faster car can help, but it also can cover up bad habits.
As for the previous post, I have some 225/50/14 BFG R-1 stretched on a 6" wide rim. Not ideal but it works. ( I'm a poor student, gotta use what I have)
