I honestly don't know if they make them for FD's, I still haven't even found a tripple for an MKIII supra, well exept for the used on ethat I bought.

And I don't know about the disadvanage's because I haven't drove it yet, but I have heard one guy say that they are very hard to slip. And a huge pain in teh butt to take off of a hill with. And I'm sure it is alot worse in traffic.

This is a total crock! I've been driving a twin or triple for the better part of the last 7yrs. They are actually easier to drive than an upgraded single(ACT for example), do to the fact that they can use a lower pressure clutch cover because of the increased surface area.

Yes they make triples for FD's, Dragon has one in his car.

Igy's right. I have been driving a twin plate for over two years now. I have driven both the ACT extreme(whatever the top power holder ACT makes) and the clutchmaster stage 5. Both were extremely hard to drive when compared to my twin plate. Let me repeat...EXTREMELY HARD TO DRIVE WHEN COMPARED TO MY TWIN PLATE....seriously. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png

OK, if you want to get pissy do it with someone else!!!

Because I am just relaying information from what I have heard!

And you still aren't answering my question, were do you get the throw out bearing kit?

I live in Okinawa, so I just go to the closest shop and order the parts. I heard that there is an OS rep in the states now.

Does anyone else make twin plates for FDs? I thought I saw something from blitz or HKS some where. Is Gilken the best?

93 R1 10-04-2003 07:31 PM

I really don't think he was being "pissy"

He was just telling you the real answer

wanta be boosted 10-05-2003 08:22 AM

If he wasn't then I'm sorry, but there are MUCH better ways of saying something over the net so that it doesn't sound offending since I can't hear anyone's voive. I'm going by the text, and the ! at the end.

IGY 10-05-2003 08:40 AM

And I was going by the fact that you made it very clear that SOMEONE ELSE told you that a twin was harder to drive. I'm not taking issue with you I'm taking issue with the people that have never driven a twin and are spreading there theories as fact. Basically what 93R1 said. Doesn't anyone else get tired of hearing someone's opinion passed on as fact? Doesn't anyone else get pissed when they buy something that is supposed to work, and they find out that they have to spend more money to make it work? Sorry I was misunderstood.

wanta be boosted 10-05-2003 10:08 AM

Nahhh, doesn't make me mad that I have to spend more money on it.

That's life.

It really pisses me off when people tell others they need this and that etc and they have no idea what in the hell they are talking about. It also causes people to blow engines and spend a lot of $ they don't have. This also pisses me off.

I have a triple plate ORC (Ogura Racing) clutch and it's also easier to drive than a strong single ever thought of being. The clutch pedal is a little softer than the OS Giken Twin, but the OS Twin is a little easier to actually drive. As for the push/pull kit and throw out bearing we can get them here in Japan. JT Imports should be able to pick one up for you.
