I think that these clutch's are fully rebuildable, and I just bought one, and it is fine, I am just wondering were I can buy new clutch disks, and the other parts for it if it ever goes out?

The great thing about these clutches is that they're rebuildable, and last a long time. I rebuilt my over a hear ago and paid in the neighborhood of $600 for it. The disks come from the factory at 4mm thick. You can wear them down to 1mm thick. I measured mine the last time I rebuilt my engine(about 2 months ago) and found that the disks(after a year of abuse) have worn down to 3.5mm...so they'll wear down about 1mm every 2 years...that means I shouldn't have to buy new disks/plates for another 3 1/2 to 4 years. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

I thought yours was a twin plate?

wanta be boosted 09-30-2003 05:54 PM

Well acctually I bought it used for $350.

And it has been used for 1000 miles (supposedly). And one of the disk, the 1st one (closest to the engine), looke pretty worn down. The rest look gook. But I don't think there 4mm. I'll have to check on that one.

Anyways, can anyone give me a link to save, or a site that sells the parts. I've searched google, and found nothing.

Also this is not for an RX-7, it is going in supra7 which has a 7MGTE.

Thanks, Cory

I had the same exact clutch on one of my 7M supras. The front disks always go fast on the 7M. Make sure you clean all of the crap out of the input shaft splines and apply a light coat of high temp grease. I live in Okinawa, so I just go to the closest shop and order the parts. I heard that there is an OS rep in the states now.

Hard to drive on the street?

Yep...twin. The 3 plate rebuild will cost more of course because of one more disk/plate.
