The stock ecu will hit a fuel cut somewhere around 14psi I thought. Running more than 12psi isn't really recommended with the stock intercooler either, but might be able to get away with it. Also keep in mind the general rule of thumb is anything over 3 mods the ecu needs to be upgraded, so in this case the upgraded boost may constitute the 4th mod? I'm gona see if I can find the fuel/bar/rpm maps for the stock ecu to determine when and where fuel cut occurs.

Ok, here's the numbers I found. Notice the ECU takes into account boost spikes in the transition rpms.

RPM ABS. CUT OFF(PSI) SEA LEVEL CUT OFF(PSI)

1000 26.5 11.8

1500 26.5 11.8

2000 26.5 11.8

2500 26.5 11.8

3000 26.9 12.2

3500 27.1 12.4

4000 27.5 12.8

4500 28.0 13.3

5000 26.9 12.2

5500 26.0 11.3

6000 25.8 11.1

6500 25.4 10.7

7000 25.4 10.7

So its like $700 for the ecu and another $50 for the chip. Yeah, I am pretty sure he will not go for that. He is srt of cheap he looks at every penny he puts into the car and panics that if he sells the car tomarrow he will ot get it back out. Drives me nuts!! I keep pointing to my TII and asking him if he thinks I expect to EVER get my money back out of it? I think he thinks I am insane anyway.

Thanks for the input guys. 94Touring you made a good point about the stock I/C. I also have to xconsider we live in Florida and is especially hot here. We are still seeinf 90° days right now and probably will into November.

Let me see what kind of boost he is hitting now. I think he is hitting 10 PSI but that is up over 6.6K RPM. Not sure though.

Cant you get the Pettit ECU to kick in the second turbo sooner?? Hmmm. An good boost controler is like $400 maybe the Pettit ECU is the way to go.

I'll have to take his car for a spin.

If he's really cheap, why not make some manual boost controllers for those twins? Thats what I did back when I still had the twins on my FD, cost me 35 bucks and worked like a champ, plus was super easy to do.

I already recomended to him to install a Power FC and some bigger secondaries. - Refer back to the cheap bastard part.

I might pull my Profec B and get a Blitz so I was going to give him the Profec.

All rubber replaced vacume coolent etc... when engine was out.

The car is tight. He has spent about 16K including buying the car to get it all sorted out. It is pristine now.
