the easiest car to put a ford 9" is a first gen...... you can put mosler axles on it too ! that is a damn good drag car ! light and solid axle!
I think you mean Moser, thats just a brand of axles, I always used Currie for my rear end parts, but the only time I built a 9" rear, which never made it into the car I built it for because it got stollen, I did use Moser axles with the rest of the rear being all Currie, even brand new brakes.

I see your point, I cant even imagine the amount of work it would take to make a 9" rear IRS. I think thats why people just use the Jaguar rear set up in that case.

That picture looks like what I'm talking about. The fabrication part may be tricky, but it would basically work similarly to the stock Mazda rear. If I didn't mind spending $500 on an experiment I'd buy that rear to try it out.

That Dutchman rear end is $4000 with no gear set, so basically its $5000-$7000.

wouldn't a 4.7 rear just make 1st and 2nd gear totally useless? i don't see the point in using it.
