the XLR is targeting the SLK, and the roadsters from Japan.

For a starting price of $76,650 they can ******* keep it. The SLK55 is $15k cheaper, has more power, and performs better.

ha ha definately a plus. I am happy to be one of the resident GM fans on this site. Doesn't mean I don't like Rotars better though. The SL55 is 79,000 base price. The SLK, even the new one, doesn't come with the supercharged 5.5 so it isn't faster, they are both hard top convertibles and other then that is is personal preference. The XLR is built in the same plant as the Vettes which speaks highly of that car. The SLK is German which is good as gold for build quality, however, the German cars will be more expensive to repair as the parts come from father away (for now) and the XLR is a lot rarer then the SLK. Besides, the SLK with the 5.5 in it isn't even released yet and it is more of a rumor at this point so it isn't really comparable.

well the SLK55 is definately gonna be coming out, its just a matter of time, especially since it finally has the chassis and steering to make it a great drive, not a parking lot queen. The front end on the new one is a bit wierd tho, it should be toned down a little, it just doesnt go together well. But I would take an SLK350 over the XLR, it just feels like a much more special car, regardless of 1/4 times (maybe im still pissed that the vette lost its pop-ups and got that ugly looking square vent under its nose)

The SLK55 IS out. I drove one yesterday as a matter of fact.

The SLK55 is a n/a v8 with 369hp 375 tq I believe. You can get a loaded one for $69k. I guarantee it will out perform an XLR. That bitch rolls out pretty good.
