You Guys See The Caddy Ads?

did you guys see the ads for caddy that advertise three v series cars that played during the superbowl? the cts-v and the sts-v arent all that great, but i had no idea they were coming out with an xlr-v. the xlr is already the same as the vette, so the xlr-v is gonna be a z06. a cadillac z06, thats gonna be nice

Whatever, a 4.2L supercharged dohc V8 is sweet.
Ive driven a cts-v, neat car.
And the XLR isnt liek a corvette.

ok, the xlr is very very similar to the vette, but the engine is a 4.6l northstar v8 with 279ci, not the 350 the vette has. http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?se...1&page_number=1

Uh...no. The XLR is built off a similar platform not the same. The engine is a DOHC engine not pushrod, the vette is no 6.0 and the C5 z06 was 346 c.i. which is a world of difference. IN the V form both the STS and the XLR gain a supercharger to make up the performance difference. They are all three very cool cars, and they all properly combat another car companies product. The CTS-V and the soon to be CTS-V plus (500 horsepower) are targeted at the BMW M series. The STS and STS-V are targeted at that bling wearing 300C and SRT-8 and of course every other piece of overblown fwd crap *caugh TL* *caugh*. And the XLR is targeting the SLK, and the roadsters from Japan. The nice thing about Caddys lately is that they have done a great job with the entire car instead of skimping on the interior or the engine and drivetrain.
