I have been seriously looking at buying an 05/06 GTO. I really like the styling, though its often what people criticise the car the most. Huge plusses include: 400HP, RWD, 6speed, good aftermarket and its practical. I have never liked Pontiac, but technically, its a Holden. I have yet to test drive one. Anybody driven one, know someone that owns one??

They are bad ***! I see a few that run at NPR. Just a few mods and they roll out on streets in the 12.3 area!

Do it! The critics love the holdens over here, which is unusual for a yank tank type car, so it must be half decent!

I love the way GTO's look, always have. It has a simple smooth character, it just isnt a 'gto.' I personly could give two hoots about the name, they are a great deal, you get a ton of performance for not much money. Good brakes too!

Some big-name driving school picked up a fleet of them. Might have been Bob Bondurant. Personally, I like the car. Haven't really heard anything bad about them. GM just couldn't sell it.

a bit heavy, but other than that its a ncie car. a late model fbody would be a good other choice. had the ls1 with less power, but lighter and jsut as big of a aftermarket. down sides, solid rear axle, but you could pick up a decent fbody for 11-12k.

The GTOs perform extremelly well, at least all the ones that came through our dealership, just make sure you get the 6.0 model...but as for practical, I am not so sure about that, gas guzzler as soon as you put you foot in it the least bit, but if you are just using it for highway speed the are fairly decent in the MPG department
