what motor do you guys reckon is really better from the factory? everyone knows that supra's have great motors and can make gobs of power with stock everything, but same goes for skylines right?
which motor do you think is more stout from the factory? the 2jz or the rb26

OK I am not a fan of skylines. There are several models of the skyline in Japan, anything from a NA 2liter to a twin turbo 2.6liter. Some are 4lug (non turbo) and others are 5 lug. AWS is an option on almost any RWD nissan and aftermarket companies make more money than nissan selling parts to get rid of it. The rx7 AWS as well but I don't like it. The skyline is WAY overrated.....they are nice cars they drive good and handling is OK. The RB 20 turbo cars are just weak they have no tourque and feel just slow in the low end. I love the sound of an RB though although I have been getting burned out because every swingin crank around here has one and for some reason skyline owners like to let the car sit and idle for hours on end!!?????
As far as which engine is strong the 2J or the RB26........the 2j wins hands down. RB blocks are weak the cylinder walls crack all the time. Take a look at rb26s that are putting down the power and see what they upgraded to make that power. Then look at the 2j and see what they upgraded to make the power..... RB's are weak.
Toyota was making the supra with the 1jz back in 85-86 with 280hp long before the GT-R was making that power. The 1J is still in use in many cars today and they are all fast as hell Just turning the boost up on a stock computer will yeild well over 300hp.
Hell Nissan does not even use the RB20 anymore, from R33up they all have the RB25.

love how 500whp RX-7s whip on 800Rwhp supras all day long.
r32 looks liek a hopped up sentra. yeah it;s light and all that, but it's just not worht the money.
No skyline is. I guess you can argue that your 50k GTR WOULD win in a road course when a heads and cam, 100 shot, 150K mile, beat up 1994 trans am worth 6k blows the doors off you, but it wuold certainly suck either way.
The only reason they are so overhyped is because we don't get them here..period.
speaking of SCC, love how a bolt on viper put a MINUTE on that bolt on GTR a couple of years ago.
Mazda is the only company to win a Lemans-caliber race, i'm not sure the GTR even qualified ever.

heh heh heh, thats cause subaru's rule......
though i'm really liking that new evo mr were supposed to get... course that would be just a normal evo to everyone else in the world, finally we get the goodies like acd ayc and 6 speed.... i might head that way instead of the sti...
