I LIKE IT. WOULD BE NICE IF IT HAD A ROTARY ENGINE LOL BUT THEN IT WONT BE A SUBARU. GOD I ONLY WISH I CAN COP THE STI LOL. DONT GET ME WRONG MY PASSION IS THE RX7 NO DOUBT ABOUT IT

Personaly, I dont think any Impreza. Do you have any idea of the engine that is in those things. The flat 4 engine that they use is the most unique engin that I know of (next to a rotary of course). Two people around here have 2.5 RS's and the exhaust note is just as uncommon as a rotary with exhaust. There is nothin else that sounds like it.

I'm pretty sure the STi will have a radio. Of all the things they could have cut from the car, I doubt the radio would be the first to go. The stock WRX 6 disk in dash unit is pretty nice... but you know that.

Where did you hear that?
The light weight J-spec STi has no radio or anything else, its about 200 pounds lighter, but they also put lighter roof and lighter rear glass among other things in it, no creature comforts at all.

Um, yeah I know about the Japanese version... I thought we were talking about the US 2.5L STi.

Apollo, you're right the exhaust sounds very different. I had a flowmaster on my 2.5RS, and I think it sounded very mean. I'm dying to put something on my WRX. It's so quiet and smooth stock that I've been driving down the highway, set the cruise, and then realized minutes later that I've been in 4th gear the whole time.

Flowmasters on a WRX?! I've never heard of a flowmaster on an import.. but that's cool.

He he, I might have been the first! Seriously though, I thought paying $600+ for a catback was insane (still do). With the cost of the muffler and mandrel bend work from a local muffler shop I paid less than $300. The guys at the local tuner shop tried to tell me that "that muffler isn't designed for an import car." I didn't bother trying to explain to him that it's all the same. If you put two flowmasters on a 5.0L Mustang, why not just one on a 2.5L Impreza? It's just airflow. Anyway I think it worked out great, the only downside was the weight, as the muffler was pretty heavy duty steel.

I'm thinking of using Flowmasters on the RX7 too, but I don't know what kind of heat they'll be subjected to.

Sorry this got off topic... so um... the STi RULES!

Just replying to an earlier post about not hearing about a lot of RX-7s with 600hp. There is actually a person I've been hearing about living in my area (Seattle) with a 600+hp RX-7. Apparently it uses a 3 rotor engine among other tuning. The guy might have been a professional racer at some point. He uses it for Seattle International Raceway events as far as I know. Cool huh?
