Yeah, I did a little research on the A4...it's pretty cheap and easy to mod it up to 250hp or so, which isn't bad for a daily driver. The problem is that they're hard to find with low miles for under $12K.

If you like Audis but fancy something a bit different how about a 90 Coupe Quattro 20V? I drove one and loved it, very very classy, sounds awesome - 5 cylinders, a proper Audi. Handling was very sweet as well.

www.20v.org has info.

I like the Coupes, but finding the turbo 20V quattro with low miles is pretty tough, and even the high mileage ones are pricey.

Turbo? You can't find any because there weren't any. Any turbo coupes you might come across would have swaps from the S4/S6, and no wonder those would be pricey.

That would be about the only drawback of these cars, there isn't much for tuneability unless you swap for an S4/S6 engine.

But they just sound SO good . . .

Actually come to think of it you could probably get an early S4 for about what you would pay for the Scooby, if you insisted on a turbo car. There's a thought.

The only S4s in my expected price range have 130K+ miles on them...that's way too high for a turbo car that's $10K+.

Hm. Well then - how about a DSM? Cheap, AWD, turbo, one of the most moddable (is that a word?) cars out there.

I want something a little bigger than a DSM...and I don't really need another money pit...lol. I am also looking at the Subaru Legacy GT, although they might be a little heavy for my tastes. I really want a 4 door, since I will be replacing my wagon with it...maybe an Outback or something.
