Good: ~2900 pounds AWD 165 Horses stock Good looks (like old school WRX) Turbo kit is available for ~$5000 and a 75% power increase 5 out of 5 in reliability on carpoint Not so good: No LSD in front Weak tranny (can't really handle turbo) Open deck block I think it would make a pretty good project car. I am looking to get something nice next fall/winter, and I was considering a Taurus SHO (V6) but I think this is a better platform, especially for winter. The only problem is that the RS is about $4000 more on average...I think it's worth it, though. I guess I'll be working my ass off this summer. http://www.whitetyphoon.com/impreza/impreza.jpg |

yeah, for a winter beater, that would be a very nice car, or even a DD.

I have seen quite a few of those at the auto-x, why dosen't subaru make a turbo 2 door? Stupid 4 doors.
|
I actually want a 4 door RS, but they're hard to find. I'm buying the other car to carry people around...4 doors are easier.

Depends what you're after:
Taurus SHO = fabulous engine stuck in mediocre chassis Impreza = great chassis with averagish engine easier to improve the motor than the chassis, so I'd say go with the Impreza. Wouldn't a motor swap for a genuine WRX unit be more effective than the turbo kit for about the same cost? J |
From what I hear it's better to put a turbo on an EJ25 than to put in an EJ20.
