Not true - there is carbonfibre and there's fiberglass with a weave of decorational CF in it. But you're right fiberglass is far cheaper and almost as good as CF as far as weight is concerned.

Can't you get Kevlar stuff now? Use cardboard, its light and inexpensive.

Thanks for the suggestion though. He DOES need to work on his shifting technique and a few other little things, maybe school's what he needs.

Subies suck for shifting, his technique is probably fine, but the clutch pedal feel is numb and the engagement sucks. The CF won't help much with weight on that car unless he goes with a front mount and goes to a stock RS style hood (prefer that look anyway). Has he taken out the back seats yet and the spare tire? Also, is he trying to run the unlimited class in solo 2?

He's not running stock clutch. I've driven it and gotten much better times.
