Carbonfibre is a bit pointless on a heavy Subaru if you ask me. CF is the last resort in weight saving - it's expensive for just a few grams of weight saved.

haha yeah lets buy a car and lighten it, good job, you bought a heavy 4 door, obviously your really worried about weight.

Hey hey hey now, I know he owns a Subie, but he loves rotaries a lot and has more respect for an FD than any other car on the road, including another of his own. Can we please not bash on him? When he got the car he was really scraping the bottom of the barrel and lucked out to even receive it. Now, he's much better off and all but he still loves his car. Not trying to give you a sob story, just not wanting a really good friend of mine getting his car bashed when no one really knows about his prior circumstances.

i dont see why everyone hates subs. they dont win lots of wrx bc they suck. i personally love the wrx and think it looks good in stock form, or maybe lowered a little.

My friend Jake is sitting here right now, he owns an '02 WRX and wants a lighter hood since he's into autoxing. Some *** at school has told him that you can't paint carbon fiber, and I told him about Ferraris being made mostly out of cf and they're not left unpainted. He's still a little unconfident, can you please tell him it can be done? Thanks a lot.

FYI, a lightweight hood.. actually anything besides the factory hood, will bump you out of the street class. May as well get the suspension done, and tires, full exhaust, boost controller.. lol

i painted my Cf hood... and then my brother ran over a dog with the car but I don't think the dog believed that it was real Cf hood.

He's done most everything he wants to do at this point, now he's wanting better ventilation underhood (things are starting to heat up a bit) and maybe something lightweight while he's at it. By the way, anyone know how carbon fiber reacts to heat? We've all been discussing it for a while. One of our group suggested that it doesn't absorb heat and simply lets it vent. Another said it absorbs it like crazy and then radiates it back onto the internals. Can you guys just help settle this?
