I am new to this site :P just browsing for info. regarding the little quirks that have developed on my '93 RX (black, red leather, 5 speed, 64,000 miles) and ran across this forum. Having both cars (RX and WRX) I must opine that in bone stock form, do not be dismayed! The RX is quicker! But... not by much. And if you run up against one that has been tweaked a bit, you had best be a bit tweaked yourself. Were an RX available in the States today, I am certain the difference would be much more distinct. I would also add that any comparison of 10 year old technology vs. present technology is unfair. I can only imagine what a spanking new RX would be like! Nonetheless, and I do not mean to make waves on this website (I love my RX) the WRX is truly amazing, especially for the price. I read about it and watched it on Speedvision for years, vowing to have one if it ever made it to our shores (I ordered one on the net the day it was introduced at the Chicago?/Detroit? auto show and got the first one in the state of Va., a wagon which I autocross [D-Stock, so limited mods]) and it is perhaps the ultimate sleeper, as you can imagine. For an aging baby-boomer like myself, it may be the perfect car...for more info. you might check out http://www.i-club.com. It is vast...

One last thing, and I'm sure you are all aware of this: with the possible exception of an AWD Porsche (and how many of those are there?) it is invincible in the rain. So catch them on dry pavement, and you'll have some fun...

You have good taste in cars. Luckily, I played with the WRX on dry pavement. I was dumb enough to race a 3KGT VR-4 in the rain and when I got wheelspin at 110 I realized that was a bad idea. Live and learn.

UniqueII,

High-speed wheelspin notwithstanding (they should be putting SO3s on this car) I trust you showed him your tail lights?

(Please don't say no.)

DX/Fat chicks...I got a mental picture of that...ugh!

(RX/CRX/WRX...can't afford the only other "RX"-mobile, the RX300...but my girlfriend can.)

My RX-7 isn't that fast...it will barely edge a VR-4 in good weather. They have 320 horsepower and I have around 275, and once we're both moving, my weight advantage isn't as helpful. Don't worry...I have an evil plan that will change everything, though.

What is your evil plan?

It's kind of a secret, and it's going to take a long time to complete, since I have to finish college first, but it involves a lot of horsepower. And yes, I'm keeping the rotary.

lol....

yeah I started looking into things at my new job today... already found someone selling an intake manifold throttle body and wheels for my car. Also found someone to install them and the exhaust HELLA CHEAP!

Yes we do motor swaps turbo's N20 etc.... you think of it we do it! Except we only do honda to honda swaps... But we do exhausts and **** on other cars!!! SWEET!

But my buddy with the SI civic is getting n2o I believe. We will have to see how well a nitroused Civic SI 5 spd can keep up with a mustang GT with longtube headers free flowing H pipe free flowing mufflers 1.7 roller rockers a twisted wedge intake with a 70mm throttle body! lol

hahahaha I may also do gears! So it may not be much of a race anyway!!!

I would take an RX7 anyday over a VR4 by the way! No way am I paying like 4 grand for a damn transmission!!! lol

My friend's SI with N2O, fuel comp, and exhaust runs 14.6 in the quarter...not too shabby for a car that's almost stock. Not to mention the fact that it has a custom stitched leather interior.
