I got a chance to play with a 2002 WRX wagon last night, and the damn thing kept up with me! Now let's think about this...it's a 4 season car, can haul 5 people plus luggage, is quiet, and will pass emissions. Way to go Subaru.

BTW, are the 2002s faster than previous models? I read that the new wagon will run a 14.3 in the quarter, which is .2 higher than me, but he had the traction advantage off the line. I raced a sedan a while ago that had upgraded exhaust and I walked him pretty easily. Maybe my TII is slowly dying.

they are pretty fast both of my friends wrx's ran 13.7's with exhaust

So I guess the one I raced last summer should have beaten me...maybe he was taking it easy because his wife was in the car.

The WRX is the only new car (under $30k) I'd buy right now. I like the wagon too, it is only like 80 lbs heavier than the coupe. I was trying to talk my dad into buying one, but he ended up getting a 02 eclipse convertible. I saw a nice WRX last month, it was that nice blue color, had exhaust, big fat FMIC, and a nice body kit. Made me wish my 10th AE was all modded, so I could race him.

I am a big fan of sport wagons, especially the WRX, BMW, and Audi wagons. If I bought anything new right now it would be one of those three, I think.

i WAS gonna buy a wrx but i bought the FD instead

I think you'll be better off in the end.

Sit in one of those, and they look and feel like a piece of crap. Which wouldnt be bad if they werent upwards of $25,000, and no leather, phoooey on the car, thumbs up on the motor and drivetrain.
