I bought it this way. I found a vacuum leak near the choke I think it is.. Looks like an egr valve on the side of the carby. Will investigate further when the sun is up...
Hey can you take some pics of this carb setup?

Thats the EGR, it's bolted under the carb, on the intake manifold.

I told you that carb is a POS. did you happen to notice that carb has like 4 electrical connectors going to it!!!!! It's a ******* nightmare.

On the front side of the carb, there is a clear glass window, so you can see the fuel level/float settings.(you have to take complete aircleaner off to see) If it is above the middle, the carb is fucked.

oh and those trucks are know for having distributors going bad, both the vaccum advance and the magnets for the pickup coil. my truck was running like ***, swapped in a know good distributor, truck ran like a raped ape.

If you have a vaccum pump, take off the dist. cap, and the vac hose. pump up the vac. advance, and see if the linkage inside the dist. moves.

I still have to check that, Camel told me to do that same to the Dist.

Anyhow I blocked off the EGR with a blockoff plate and the car runs A TON better! I mean its actually driveable. Still a tiny amount of hesiation when hitting wot.
