the worst part about those cars is going to be the owners. like most of the wrx owners here, they think that it is the end-all-be-all and buddy.....it ain't, and the reality is JUST THAT HARSH......

--------------------------

I know exaclty what you mean.. there's this kid near me that drives a WRX, he's cocky as hell, and thinks his car is such a badass.. wait 'til I meet up with him..

--------------------------

I agree on this too, they are not much different, Supra owners, WRX owners, and Muscle car owners are all the same~
...RX7 owners...

Every popular car is going to have its fair share of punks and its fair share of cool people.

Like TurboII said, it's all about the driver.

"those RX-7 owners are such ********"

its not the OTHER people, its the person THINKING the thoughts.

When you judge another, you define yourself.

After riding in a fully suspension tuned Evo6 in Japan a couple of years ago, I know that there aren't many 7's that can touch one of these things in the twisties. The owner was a good driver too. The way we were flying through corners marked for 30km/h going about 100km/h sold me on them. This thing was stock under the hood. It has more than enough get up and go, but it was certainly not a straightline car. Riding in that thing would convince anyone of their worth. These cars in the right hands are very good. They do live up to the hype with the Japanese model, but since we don't get the AYC we'll never know how good they can be.

On a mountain road with a pair of good drivers, I'd put my money on the Evo. They're better than you'd think once they're modded. After all, who leaves their cars stock anyway? Too bad 99% of the owners over here will just do boring straight line stuff with them and never get them close to their limits. The ones that do will probably go beyond the limits and crash them.

BTW, they're clutch killers if you want a good launch.

Just to clarify, there was supposed to be a smiley after my "...RX7 owners..." comment. I don't know why it didn't show up. It was meant as a joke.

I don't doubt the EVO is worth the sticker price... the problem is finding one for sticker. In Austin there is anywhere from $5K to over $8K in mark-up. With the options they are installing it makes them damn near $40K. Sorry, but they are not worth that much. Once the STi comes out, they will have no choice but to drop the price.

No doubt. I remember when the Evo VII came out. A buddy of mine took a picture of the sticker price and with the dollar/yern rate at the time it was less than $23k. At that price I'd get it, but for $40k - Hell no! What something is "worth" is relative to the person that wants to buy it.
