I have a 2002 A4 quattro 1.8T, I'd say if you are thinking about the fwd, just buy a jetta and save yourself 10k. There is really no point to an audi without awd, I just got back from doing some axis spins in the first snow of the year. Fun, and you can't do that in a fwd. Honestly i'd have been fucked even getting to the parking lot in a fwd car tonite. I don't race that audi, but i know there is a group buy for a t28 upgrade kit on audiword right now $3600 for everything. That is supposed to put 280hp and 290 ftlbs to the wheels.

I was looking into the Audi A4 before I bought my FD. Test drove it....Loved it. they are great cars but I wouldn't even think about getting FWD. I live ina town that rains every other day. So it would come in handy. Handling is great. Trust me!! You will regret it if you don't get AWD. Overall it is cheaper unless you just get the base model with nothing in it. With the Quattro you get package upgrades.

Long term it would be cheaper as well most likely as the quattro would hold its value better.
