Just wanted to get some opinions. I currently own an N/A FC and just bought a new 2004 WRX Sti, just curious about comparisons or any thoughts. This thing is by far the most powerful car ive ever driven. Was kinda curious if a stock FD would keep up with it. If so I would be very suprised. By the way dont take this as a flame, i know and love 7's very much just looking for opinions.

4 wheel burn outs are cool! I love my FD and I chose it over anything else. If I was looking into a new daily driver, the STi would be at the top of my list.

Who is stock anyway??? I'd say it would depend a lot on the driver, they are both great cars IMO.

Nice purchase! damn...must be nice going from the n/a to the 300hp beast

Although I haven't driven the US one...I was in Japan over the summer and test drove their 2004 2.0L turbo STI. I don't think its "quite" as straight line fast as the American one...but wow...it definately had some power.

One thing I noticed of the STI was it had lots of lag...something I've been told doesn't exist on the American verison due to the extra .5L displacement. Compared to my 91 TurboII...it had more lag...but once the boost hit...it really took off ...with three other people in the car I was surprised at how fast it accelerated.

I guess from a highway roll the FD would be even or pull a little...Seems like a few US STI owners have hit low 13's...even a high 12 timeslip. Although traps speeds may be similiar, I'm not sure a stock FD could manage that time.

Question for you...when is your build date?...and do you have a ping? Just wondering if SOA has managed to clear up the little glitch...or if its just inherent on some cars.

Also, why is this on the 3rd gen section? haha

Thanks for the replies. Picked up the car last week and love it to death. As far as lag it is noticable but not too bad. What is the best the thing to do to reduce that by the way? Probably similar to any other turbo.
