Well.. Yesterday at My cousin's house i was there tryin to get his 68 mustang runnin.. He is not a car guy and he bought the car but has had it stored for a few years.. it used to crank and turn on.. but his battery died sometime last year from what he told me and he hasnt turn it on since.. So we went over and put a fresh battery in it.. The car turns over .. we put fuel in it and its gettin to the carb.. but seems to be gettin no spark.. unfortunately it was gettin dark and we didnt have time to come get my tools so i could check for current at the coil and such.. hopefully that was the prob..

So anyways.. Im tryin to get him to learn how to work on his damn car.. I wanna get him into the DIY mindset for his car.. you guys got any good links for these cars and little projects and upgrades.. Like swaps from more modern cars or reliability upgrades or simple mods ? and any good parts sources would be nice too.. I just want him to learn to get his hands dirty and see the results instead of being that guy who just paid to get it all done.. know what i mean? I know there is a way to upgradae the rears to disks using Mark IV hubs and granada calipers.. or something of that sort.. things like that would be cool.. I'm sure some of you here have classic mustang experience and can help me make sure he doesnt stray from the right path..

plugs look fine.. i was here this weekend and checked em.. they are burnin right.. the cap does look a lil fugged.. and the little wire that grounds the points was bad.. so i made a new we stuck a fresh coil on it.. and still nothing.. maybe the little thingy..( i forget what its called) that goes hooked up to the points is bad.. is there supposed to be some sort of resistor hooked up to the power cable on the coil? cuz it has a bare wire.. and it looks like its been hacked a few times..

im sure i can con him into doin an modern engine swap in the future.. but for now he wants to get it runnin..

the thingy is called a condenser and it needs to be good. they are dirt cheap. however i would ditch the points and condenser and put in a Pertonix ignitor they are 75 bucks but are drop dead reliable and let you use a high voltage coil and open up your plug gaps for better burn.

some cars have a ballast resistor and some have a resistor wire going to the coil.

as for your brake upgrade. the Granada swap is for the front. i did it on my 69 cougar. just get the spindles, rotors, calipers, rubber hoses, and outer tie rods from a Granada and it is a bolt on deal.

for the rear i would just call TSM and order a rear disk kit
