My friend Gennie has a Miata with a 94 motor , single turbo , which is being controled by a haltech engine management system.

It ran very low 11's on drag radials @ english town.

He drives the car everyday.

It has the T2 rearend and front hubs.

He had to weld in the hardtop on and sorta of a roll cage.

I might even have some pics of it.

If you are intrested in speaking with him.. I can ask him if its ok to give you his number. He live in Queens NY.

He built the car in his backyard.. and its a show winner. It was even in turbo magazine once. I think it was a 3 page write up.

Sick little car!

Because FD's ain't all that.

A car that can out handle a FD (hang out at an autocross anytime and see who posts better times) with a starting weight of around 2300#~2400#. Now put a turbo rotary in one and look the fudge out. Running a streetported 13B-T with 13B-REW internals and a T04S with a standalone ECU would make for one badass little car. Like I said before, 350rwhp in car that size would be a fast f'n car. But for the love of Bob - get a cage and do up the suspension as much as possible. All that power will overwhelm the stock setup and have a tendency to swap ends. They have those short wheelbases that make for a nimble car. It also makes it swap ends too easily with that sort of power if it catches you off guard.

Shoot, I don't know why this swap isn't more popular. It's one helluva sweet car if done properly. IMO, this is the way it should have been from the factory. Even the old n/a 13B from the FC's would've been great in this car. If only, if only.

It is a whole lot of work. I just did a 88 na 13b into my miata this winter and spring. It is street ported, RB header, underdrive pullies, RBintake monifold with a edelbrock 650 on it. It ran low 11's for two weeks then shelled the diff. been waiting on parts ever since (2 months!!!). Pics at www.deviantdelusions.org

I've seen Billet's Racing MX5, Aussie version of the miata with a 13B T04 turbo.

If you are going to go through that much trouble why not use a FC with FD parts? It's not as though you'll be seeing the maximum potential out of either engine. A decently modded kouki turbo 13B putting down at least 350rwhp will be plenty for a Miata.
Go with what this guy said!

I have a miata with a 3rdgen single turbo miata. It puts out 417rwhp with a lot left. I'm shooting for 500 rwhp with the boost turned up to 22-25 psi. I'll take some pictures and post it up.
