Today marks the end of the rotary only portion of the retreat.

All in all, both days a good time was had by all. Today was a bit stressfull for me as the camera proved to be quite the annoyance. Driving school went great and even though we start the auto cross a bit behind schedule (sorry guys) everyone got plenty of runs, I know I was beat at the end of the day. Didn't run the vert, ran the AE all day and it did quite well

Of course a huge thanks to all of the staff, Jim, Kris, Jay, Steve, Jon and of course to the sponsors, Just Racing, Rotary Innovation, Himini Racing, Pettit.

And thanks to everyone that showed up!

Hey Phins,

The thanks goes out to you and Jim and everyone else that was involved for putting the event together. Im sure im not the only one who will post up that they had damn a good time. Im surprised there are not pics up yet. I don't have any to post as I left my camera... plus I was busy driving Rons Cosmo...

Again thanks to you guys and everyone who pitched in. See you guys at the next event.

I had a great time and anytime there are a buch of rotary cars screaming around its a good day. The show and shine was great the atmosphere was very relaxed the park was beautiful and perfect for the day.

The Autocross day was a blast there was some really impressive driving both from experienced drivers, driving school graduates and first timers. I had a lot of fun watching every tear up the place.

Sunday was also a hoot and the RX-7's that were there competing were impressing everyone watching. Those that did run did a commendable job in did well int heri respective classes.

The event from an attendance unfortunatly was a flop. We had about 24 cars show up on Saturday and 20 on Friday. We only had 11 cars register to mix it up for the Autocross in Sunday. No FB's were participatinf either day and missed out on Trophies and a killer custom builtd front adjustable sway bar for their car as a prize. We only had 2 RX-8's and one of them was my friend.

The event was a success from the grin factor meter. I saw a lot of people have a lot of fun.

I wish this was a success from a financial standpoint but it has turned to be a staggering loss. I do not know how much money was collected from pre-registration. I can guess somewhere around $1200.

The event site rental with insurance cost $1500

The driving school instructors cost $500

The paid admission to the Autocross on Sunday cost $180

The lodging for event staff cost $1350

Trophies and name tags cost $450

Rent for the park on Friday cost $100

Cost for DJ on Friday - $450

I have laid out $4530 for this weekend and I have also lost a $2000 deposit for Moroso motorsports park so my total costs for this weekend were $6530.

Last year I lost $700, this year is making my head spin. I can take a hint, no one is interested in attending Rotary only events on Florida. Two dismall years have proved it to me. I have no plans on doing another event. As much as I love Rotary cars I have to take a hint and realize this isn't working. No one supports the effort.

Sorry to rain on the parade here but this is the event wrap up and this is the wrap up from my end.

I am glad everyone had a lot of fun and if anyone else would like to take a stab at putting one of these together go for it. I cannot keep on loosing thousands doing this.

Ouch, that is really unfortunate, for you Jim, and for Florida rotary events. I would not be enthused about putting on another one either. I understand that the purpose really isn't to make a bunch of money, but it sure as hell isn't to lose a bunch of money either.

That really does suck Jim.

It seemed like it was a really good time and I am kicking myself for not going.

perhaps if more advertising was done, I know you didnt want EVERYONE there, but laying out over $4000 takes alot of asses to fill the seats.

looked like a pretty dismal turnout for sure...i agree on the location...have it in a central location and it would have been much better...
