ya this is my first post, usually i just browse for information or inspiration or sometimes both. Now im starting my streetport project motor for my 88 vert and need to get some details on engine building.



anyone else riding in a vert?

sweet, mine is white with that odd almost baby blue interior those bbs wheels with all mazda center caps (and center cap wrench)



i bought it for $250 and it caught on fire on the way home (all the cats were clogged)

new battery from vatozone $48 (i work there )

straight through exhaust $100

pineapple racing 5th and 6th port inserts $50 or so

homebrew header (wrapped myself) $75

new gaskets and o-rings for the intake mani and inj $200

set of 10th anniversary wheels with tires $100



then i found out the sputtering was rusty gas tank



acid dipped the tank $50 at a local radiator shop

new to me walbro 255 pump $40

second set of 460cc injectors $40

fuel filter and fuel pump strainer $50



so im sitting at about $1000 total and the car is a blast to drive

 

sweet deal.

 

how bad was the fire damage?
