The average is somewhere around 16mpg. My FD was basically stock, and did 17-18mpg on average. That was with lots of "Spirited" driving mixed with highway.

Filling up near 1/4 tank left meant 12-13 gallons, even 14. So, do the math:

$3.25 (93 Octane Guestimate) x 13 = $42.25

13 gallons x 18 mpg = 234 miles

So, like $40-45 to do (More than likely) ~220 miles. How's that fair to your F-150?

Don't forget (as others mentioned), the FD is a bit more finicky and needs more attention/care than an F-150 (I'd assume, I don't know much about truck maintenance)... religious 2.5k oil changes, fuel filter, plugs/wires, coolant flushes, engines (tee hee)...

You can run a I-6 4-5k over an oil change, and it is still fine. Oil came out fine also. So think about that with a rotary. Especially an FD.

FD is a nice car, but can be more like a woman in the car world. It needs attention, money, and love thrown at it. Well, the love part could be held back.

Good luck and welcome to nopistons.com
