Hello
#1
I am contemplating the purchase of a 1985 RX-7 GSL-SE. I joined so that I could see what usually breaks, or may already be broken on the car so I see if I want to buy it.
Hopefully I will soon be grappling with a 13B and just how much fun I can have fixing it up and driving around.

85 GSL-SE ....BUY IT!! (IMO) they are the best FB rx.. The oil seals and the apex seals(compression seals) are what go out most of the time... They ar equiped with the best parts out of the first gen.. a FI 13B that belted out 135 HP, Disk brakes all the way around plus they have bigger rotors and vented rear disks wich are nearly 3 inch bigger then the 81-83 GSL models.....and if you blow the engine its the easyest model to swap a 13BT (turbo II) in her... OH YEAH!!

As long as you stay away from turbo's and keep up with common-sense maintenance, these babies are virtually bullet-proof.
They love being worked hard, and are just great to drive!
