I'm leaving the first ATL SCCA autoX event this season, just cruising on the interstate (GF following)...didn't have a great day (time wise), but got buck wild in my single 7 (and lots of compliments on my sleeper) and had a blast doing it!!

anyhew, this C5 rolls up from behind me, so I follow...just pacing, seeing if he's enjoying his sports car as much as I am. 5-8 miles later, we are conservatively passing all cars going into the city (gf still trying to follow at this point).

I hear him wind it up and cut lanes between cars...some-what a ballsy move. Then I decide to take him on. -Shift into 4th- and roll up two lanes to his right, look over with a **** eating grin on my face and give the head-nod...he signals back.

Not before long he's right in front of me and traffic clears up, at least 3 lanes wide out of around 5-6...I hear him wind up again, and I nail it at 4k in 4th. I start pulling on him hard and get another lane to the right and walk him pretty bad up to ~130mph or so...

I slow way down and he creeps up...looks over with a great big smile, pointing to my car, and mouthing, "That thing is BAD!!!" I smile and give another nod..."I was setting you up", haha!!

GF is lost behind, but talking with her later, she said she wasn't expecting that at all...10year old 7 embarrassing a newer vette, now she has respect for my hard work

Hope you enjoyed my V8 kill.

ps. I'm running full emission equipment too.

Nice kill. Also nice to see someone lose a race but not lose their head.

usually vette or mustang guys act like they weren't racing and just drive by. So I thought this guy was pretty cool.
