Was cruising down the highway coming home from Wal-Mart and this faded looking ford pulls up behind me and being it's a twisty highway and he can't pass, he stays on my ***..well i really DO NOT like anyone being within a car length of me, i'm just that kinda person, well i get a chance and pass the slow *** nissan truck in front of me and he follows...i already don't like him...well we finally get to a straight stretch and i nail it in 4th and goto 5th, well he jumps on it and follows...well I pull into my lane and he keeps going in the left lane...so i think man, i am not gonna let this moron get past me i put it to the floor (i need to drop my cats and clean my injectors, no response high up) he gets alongside me, and i see that it's an Taurus SHO...well needless to say he got past me...i coulda got past him in some twisties, but he was pretty far ahead by now and i just knew there was gonna be a cop over the next hill.......man i never thought i would be beat by a TAURUS!!! (my g-friend drives an '89 taurus and i swear it's gotta be the biggest POS in the world)....cry for me ppl

 

you need a TII...

 

well not that the sho's are godlike but they were rather revolutionary when they were first made. hell ford couldn't create a transmission "hardcore" enough to handle the car, most cars lasted a short while on the road and then needed a new tranny. I know a guy with one who has put some work into it and has plenty of "well i was cruising along at 120" type of stories, he enjoys ripping apart any rice that he comes along, cause just like you all they can think of is "i got beat by a taurus?"



i've seen people swear that he had a turbo just so they wouldnt have to feel sad that there little integra got rocked

yup, and plus you should have stayed in 4th gear, n/as have to 5th gear what so ever! How fast were you going? did u redline 4th gear?

 

yeah,SHO's are pretty fast....whoever thought of a performance taurus?!

 

remember his top end is sucking, so he's probably short shifting it.



if he gets it running right he cna drag the gears out past redline with a purpose





and yeah, 5th is only for cruising and saving gas, overdrive from hell.

 

You can make anything fast... always good to keep that in mind.



The last time I was at Summit Point, the only car that was close to me on the straights was a highly modded SHO. I was kinda surprised! I smoked him badly in the corners, but on the straight he was only slightly losing to my car at 10-11 PSI (around mid 3xx RWHP, normally I run 15 on the street).



Anyhow, his car went off the track and caught on fire a little while later so sucks to be him!

They had a 6 cyl tempo at one point too. Only came in Red. Ran a 14 or some ****... LOL
