Turbo diesels are about torque, not horsepower.



Put 2000 lbs of weight on a towhook on your RX7 and one on him, I guarantee his ET wouldn't have changed.



Work trucks up here are 14.9L engines making about 475-500 hp and 1,800 ft/lbs torque.

 

Yea most trucks (ex. SRT-10) have a lot of horsepower, but their tranny's are built more towards torque and towing. Don't get me wrong, they're still quick. But they're not Vipers either.

Sounds like my dads turbo diesel excursion.. I never thought that thing could move until I drove it.. amazing what a superchips stage 2 and cold air box can do for a turbodiesel.. Paced a turbo supra at 100 comfortably rolling from Baton Rouge to New Orleans.. made the trip in record time.... Good Kill by the way..
