Was at the drag strip last night, managed to get two runs in.

Run #1:

1985 GSL-SE Turbo vs. 1994 RX-7 Twin turbo

Off the line, i had a perfect start. I pulled instantly and got about 4 or 5 carlengths on him. He said he was getting mad wheel hop. I got about halfway down the track, and he started catching me. I got too excited and floored it, and teh car started bogging down (something i'm working out still), then he slowed again. He said he shifted from 2nd to 5th. By the time he realized what was wrong i was up about 5 carlenths again, and he caught up to about 3 or 4 by the end of the 1/4. Needless to say, the crowd was impressed!!

Run #2: The bane of my existance

85 RX-turbo vs. CRX custom Turbo

Starting up the car i knew something wasnt quite right. It was choking and coughing and sputtering down low. (Hm, a lot like a vacumn leak...). Long story short, i lost by about 4 or 5 carlengths, went over the finish line at 73mph. SEVENTY THREE MILES PER HOUR!?!?!? I was so embarrased i just left w/ my buddy after that. Luckily the crowd had left already so nobody saw the embarassment.

Looked at the car today, and sure enough a main vacumn nipple's plug had come off. I'm guessing the boost blew it off on the first run. Cause damn it was runnin nice.

ANYways. Just wanted to share the glory/torture of my first day at the track.
