Why does this matter?-Because it doesn't have a LSD. 140k+ car and it uses the brakes to regulate wheel spin.
It wouldn't really make a difference because its all wheel drive it a has almost 0 wheel spin to begin with.

Scottsdale Arizona is right about 1250 ft above sea level.



Here's a link I found on a Porsche forum. It's a guy that did an acceleration run with a base(not X50) 911 trubo, manual using a new type Gtech pro. 13.013 @ 100.95. There's definitely room for the guy to cut a few tenths from his time, but this is what his car did for the run.



996/911 turbo performance as tested by Porsche owner with Gtech pro.



The new Gtech pro looks so cool that I went out and got one. I need to motivate myself to calibrate the instrument, but I'll post one of my runs after I get my butt in gear.

If you look at the rpm chart he shifts out of first gear at 3500 rpm's. That could be why his time is so bad?

Actually he did a 3400 rpm clutch dump and caught traction at 2300 rpm. His 2nd, 3rd, 4th shifts were right at about 6500 rpm. Note the speed at each shift point relative to rpm. He could improve his time by a couple tenths and gain a few mph if he did a higher rpm launch.

There must be quite a difference between the performance of a car in that hot dry climate. Just for the record if you drive a twin turbo porsche you need to launch at 4500rpm's to get a good 0-60 time. Any luck with your new g-tech chart?

Zippy, from the link in which he used his Gtech pro meter to test his 911 turbo lives in Canada. It should be fairly cool there with dense air, resulting in appreciable performance.



Yes, here in Scottsdale our local weather is often very dry thin air. At this time, winter, we're into some cooler weather with day time highes in the upper 70Fs. In the summer months our days are often over 110F.



I'll get to the runs with my new Gtech pro soon.

I picked up the new type Gtech Pro meter. It's really nice. Here's my first quarter mile run with the unit. Normally my boost hits about 10.5 psi, but it was a cool morning so my boost climbed a hint higher to 11.66 psi for the run.

stock motor, original

stock twin turbo sequential, original

stock main cat, interior welds ground flush
