Silvias are cars not to be taken lightly. I think a lot of RX-7 owners don't like the SRs because its a nice engine thats not rotary or because everyone is jumping on a good thing.

there's a talon that pulled a 8.5 1/4 mile on 10" wide tires. and by that i mean a REAL car with doors, interior and stock style suspension no tube chassis or PLASTIC.



The trasmission in those car may be whatever, but the engine itself, is the best turbo 4cyl of the 90s.

Ahhh back from the dead... This thread reminds me of all the SR vs. KA-T arguements on my 240 club I am part of. Every once in a while someone will bring it up, and it turns into something big. SR's can be badass, my friend did a Notchtop SR swap into his S14, with a bunch of minor mods, and ran in the 12's with bad launches. He ran 16.5 psi all summer (I'm sure a lot more when racing that I didn't know about) and in October, blew the bottom end on it. He's getting it rebuilt this winter to handle a lot of power and boost, but it just goes to show that SR's aren't completely bulletproof. I have also heard many stories of 4G's, and those definitely aren't either.

anyway. i have had mine for over a year now. blacktop s13sr motor with no problems. made 310rwhp & 300rhtq @ ~ 16psi bone stock engine! these motors love abuse! when you get in the 350-400+ range you have to be careful. i ran 12.8 @ 107 with my car before tuning! i will be changine turbo's again and retuning then i'll head to the strip to see if i can get an 11 sec slip. i drive my car hard. i let my friends are pro drifters sponsored by falken drive my car it never skips a beat. needless to say i love it. the ka's when built can be very good but the building part gets expensive.....and takes a while

i think that some poeple hate sr's is becuz its getting to that point where every one either wants one or has one.. i hope it dont get as bad as honda and ther *B* type motors, witch they are good reliable motors too but every one has one and puts on intake and exh. and think they are ****** the ****! i never liked dsm's and i never will oun one but im not knocking thim either.. my best friend has a 240 hach with the real 180sx TYPE X motor, his whole set up is for drifting and he never brags about is car, never tries to race any one and mostly never even drives it becuz he dosnt like to front to people like hes **** is the best, might be the best in our town but who cars, ther will always be that person that has some kind of car or motor that you think is a peace of **** that will walk on you if you try and race him.. its all about how much money and time you want to put into your car or your motor.. any thing can be reliable if you take your time and do it right.. every people thought rotaries suck and that they will never be reliable 10-20 years ago and look what people do with them now.. its all about some ones passion to make something small or slow or even shity to be better....



i could go on about how i feel sr20's are a great motor but they do have bad things about then too

me and my best friend has done a cuple of sr swaps for people and every time they get ther car back and drive it around the block ther always like ohh my ******* ****!!!!thats soo damm fast an blah blah blah.. and then my friend will have to take them for a ride in his 240 becuz they want to know how his feels and it always shuts them up after they feel a car thats alot faster.. its tue that i see to many people around here in sacramento with 240's and an all stock sr thinking they are tight ****..

my friend has alot of stuff to his motor and he can walk on just about any stock car out there but even his car is not the fastest and he knows it, he once raced a ws6, that pissed him off at a red light becus the guy kept revving and reving his motor while mugging my friend, and the guy in the ws6 had his girl friend with him and she was laughing at my friend soo he got pissed off and told him to go first, so he gave that car a head start and ended up pulling on the ws6 by 4 car lengths in 4th gear..



we all know any thing thats turbo can be fast but they all have to blow up sometime, and ther will always be something faster then you out there..

i think we all need to invest into electric cars hahahaha
