im pretty handy when it come to bondo work ( not proud of that but...) anyway i will never use bondo on my own car again. so where can i get the stuff that the pros at body shops use... usually its a pale greenish in color and i cant find it at any local parts store. im looking to fill in the groove where the ugly body mouldings use to be on my second gen.

if your talking about gorrila hair then go to a auto body supply place
"bondo" is a brand by the way, its all polyester filler, you can use that gorrila hair if you want, just dont be surprised when the hairs in it come back to haunt you later on as print thru. A show car will be "bondo" from end to another, there is nothing wrong with properly applied filler, its when its used for dents too deep that it can be a problem |
Try Summit, I think I saw some of that **** on their site a few months ago.

yes, thats why I think he wants the gorrilla hair, that will crack in that area as well
|
anything too deep will develop cracks , the layers need to be thin.. that and well prepped.. the best way to take those moldings off would be to weld them, I think.. but that will require much patience since you have to spot weld them on and very slowly so you dont warp the thin ass metal.. older cars were more forgiving in that aspect since they had thicker metal.. then grind the welds.. again slowly as to not produce too much heat in one area and lightly coat with body filler and block down
|
yeah thats why i was asking. im gonna fill in the body moulding area. im gonna fiberglass it in so it wont crack and SOME strenght... but i guess im gonna use bondo to smoothe it over
|
use JB weld to fill it. Then use bondo to smooth her out.
