So, instead of paying 150 bucks for a "free" install on a new cd player i picked up at best buy, I choose to bring it home and put it in myself (no big deal, i have put in cd players before). I got all the color codes for the wiring of installdr.com and got all the connections hooked up (except for on of the + and - wires for one of the speakers, both wires had stripes on them) . The unit is getting power and a cd plays when i put it in there, the power, ignition, ground and power antenna wires are all hooked up and no fuses are blown, but no sound is coming from the speakers!!! There are no back speakers i found out, but that shouldnt make a difference???? All i want is some tunes when i drive!

Any other ideas would be much appreciated

the front speakers are powered by a amp, try running new

speaker wires to the speakers right from the head

unit and see what happenes.

You can test it by just running it right to the speaker across

the car and if it it works then you spend the time to route the

wires in the proper manner

Some head units get pissy when you don't have all the speaker leads connected. I had a friends system that I installed (a JVC) do the same thing when the rears weren't connected.

Yah, verify that you've got wire to each speaker. If the speakers are fed from a factory amp, you might be back-feeding the factory amp instead of the speakers.

For what its worth, I will NEVER buy audio from anyone except Crutchfield. Every time I buy from them I am amazed at how thorough their install packages are, and its all free. And their prices generally BLOW the Circuit Shitty and Worst Buy prices AWAY. They include prepaid return labels with every shipment, toll-free customer support is very knowledgeable and helpful, etc. etc. The idiots at those other stores are just annoying.

And no, I don't work for them...
