I always use a 5 pin relay to raise the antenna. http://www.crutchfield.com sells the relay with a wiring harness and instructions.

These cars atteneas are reverse of "normal" cars. You basically have to use a relay like 13b ace said to switch the turn on lead to a ground, unlike "normal" cars that get a low voltage signal to tell the anntennea to go up.

Yep! I still have not fixed that on my car, but who cares CDs are better than the radio. Plus the antenna on the vert is way ugly.

Indeed it is, thank god my Sony doesnt raise the antenna until you want the radio, which I never bother with anyhow, cds all the way, maybe this year I put a MP3 player in as well, this way I can have like 2 cds in the car and thats it.

< Im not in my car enough for a sat radio, although Sony makes one you can take from car to car which is good if you own a couple of cars, and even in your house. I just wish they would come up with something for the antenna, you see the size of the thing you have to put on your car? For the $9.99 a month, its a cool gadget with cd quality sound, but damm that antenna!

Hey, Sleeper, I've got an extra relay if you want it. I forgot I had it from my '86 when I ordered up the install kit from Crutchfield and bought a new one. Email or PM me if you'd like to take it off my hands.
