I have always understood that a factory amplifier integration unit is necessary when mating an aftermarket head unit to the built-in Bose amps. Not sure if anyone remembers, but I installed a 2003 Protoge 6-CD In-Dash changer into my 93 FD Touring. After experiencing reliability problems with the plethora of wires associated with the Scosche Factory Amplifier Integration unit, I decided to remove it. I checked, and re-checked the signal wires, they were identical from the 2003 head unit to the FD body wiring. I plugged the factory body wiring harness directly into the back of the 2003 head unit, and waited for the distinct fizzle and accompanying silence of blown amps. All I heard was beautiful music! Worked for this head unit, Not sure if it'll work for all head units.

Oh and it looks great....nothing beats the factory look.

Tired of all the christmas tree lighting out there.

I have already, i acctualy left a post.

Yours looks good also, one of the least flashy aftermarket units I have seen.

When it boils down to it though, a complete stock look is more to my taste. If i can do this 6-disc unit that sinful7 has done then i will.

I have also heard of the Miata units being used. My main concern is the backlight though, it must match factory......
