Help Me Ditch This Bose System
#1
I'm getting rid of all this bose crap, and just need a little help. I have a pioneer premier head unit, rockford fosgate 400a4 amp, 2 keenwood excelon 5 1/4" speakers, and a RF bass tube. I just need a little help with wiring and placement.
Can I use the stock speaker wires to hookup the door speakers?
Can the amp fit under my seat?
Thanks in advance.

Are you going to do the wiring yourself or are you going to buy a harness? If you are going to do the wiring yourself then it would be good if you got a shop manual. It lays out all the wiring out for you. If you plan on getting a harness then you will have to splice the amp cables for the speakers and hook it up to the Acc. power cable. About the speakers I think you are going to have to buy the housing for them because I want to say the speakers are 6.25 in. I could be wrong but that is what I think!! The amp placement under the seat might be a good thng as long as air can circulate through their. You don't want it over heating. It should fit though. Why dont you just put in the trunk with the sub?

I have a shop manual, and was just wondering if I could splice into the wires by the head unit, for the speakers, as opposed to running new ones all the way to the doors.
I'm going to have to fab a plate to mount the speakers, as the bose speakers, which were in cute little boxes, were only 4" speakers. So everything has to be new.
I'd rather have the amp under the seat, because I value what little hatch space I have. I mean, as is, I can fit a dissassembled 13B into the back with a little phenagling. I will end up building a box for the RF 10" sub that is in the bass tube, but that will come once it's all hooked up.
