Yeah, I love Z06's...in my rear-view mirror slowly fading away

Actually though, I've known plenty of Z06 vette's to run 11.9's in the 1/4 on slicks with just ram-air intake. I'm a bit surprised if it lost to a car running 12.6. Well, then again no I'm not I also knew a guy who couldn't break 13 in his Z06.

Once again driver skill comes into play, what a shock...

ok, guy has $45,000 to spend on a NEW sports car, what does

he buy?

A WRX so he can be mistaken for a 20 year old kid?

A EVo VIII so he can drive a hot rod Lancer compact car?

A Mustang ?

So I ask again- what does he buy?

No stupid answers like a FD and use the money left over for

mods. Something brand new, with warranty and some resale to boot.
I would buy a used Porshe 911 if status was all that mattered to me.

I had hit a point about 6 months ago where I was toying with selling my TII and Mini and buying a 911. Then I realized that it would have to be a hell of a 911 to better my TII. That would cost more than 45k for sure.

Although if I was a mid 40's guy and wanted people to look at me and say "Yeah that guy has good taste" It would be the 911 hands down.

IMHO Covettes scream - I want to be cool but have no clue what cool is so I bought this car because everyone esle has one and it looks cool.

Thats what I see when I see a Vette.

I would buy the new Porsche that is like some crazy 400whp. I forget the name. It is something weird. Caiyan?? It looks like an SUV, all I know it is money!!

Or a Lexus IS300. Those are cherry cars. And with a lexus, you can sell that sucker 10 years from now, and get 10k out of it with over 200,000 miles on it. Lexus is the best selling used car.

We are so at the opposite end of the spectrum in car taste its funny.

I am suprised we both like RX-7's.

Cheyeene or however you spell it = total status symbol - 130K for a Sport Ute w/ 400 HP? Please why???

IS300 - If you dont mind being walked all over by Civics and Mustangs every day go for it.

The IS300 is by far my favorite Lexus but it is very lackluster in performance.

If your trying to make a statement and have 45K to spend IS300 is not gonna get the point across it says boy racer.

That story sounds a bit fishy to me...

I don't know how someone could be so confident in a 12.6 that they'd slap down a grand in a race against a car that can easily run 11's with minor mods. If the Vette was confident enough to put up a thousand bucks, I would've been pretty worried. Not "I didn't even ask him to pop his hood cuz I was confident in my car."

I don't know... I like the looks of the Vette, but there are WAY too many on the road. There are very few I've seen that are impressive to me anymore.

Are we talking about for racing?? Damned, my bad. Figured daily driver.

I would seriously go with a '04 Blue 'Stang Cobra. I just think they look good. They have used the same body style for 8 years now, but they just look good to me.

I all honesty I would take the Vette over the WRX in a minute.

I dont hate Corvettes just dont like them. They are EVERYWHERE. No joke they are as common as Camaros here. Everyone drives them. There is this upper middle class neighborhood near me, I should go take some pictures. There is a Vette in every 4th garage, no joking, my wife and I took a ride through one evening and we were laughing at all the Vettes, C-5's too all of them.

I dont like Chevettes either but no one seems to care about that hate.
you wife knows cars? wow...

my last gf asked why i had to shift gears? she doesn't understand the concept of gears. Yet she has one of the higest marks in engineering.

I don't see vettes often, i want a ZR1

cause you can't get a warranty on that...and i agreed, i'd get a M3 before i get a vette, but some people wanan a two door sports car that can't sit mroe than 2 people. adn i personally think the z3 and z4 are ugly and not great performers. also, porsche cost more than 45k last time i checked..same with a nsx same for the lotus
