Ok, I guess I have been spoiled by xp... I went to instal a dvdrw on my friends computer that has ME on it. Of course it woudlnt even post so I unplugged all the drives excpet HD and it booted. MAde the jumpers correct this time and reinstalled. It booted fine and the drive worked. we watched a dvd off it anyway. So after I left he went to burn something onto DVD and the computer froze. Now it wont boot. Wont start in safe mode either. the only hint to anything is it stays on the ME startup screen forever and if u hit esc. it says cant update config(i think) file #1 #2 or something like that. I tryed using the scanreg to restore a different day but it didnt work. Any Ideas? please?

 

Before I left for work this morning, I was installing the XP upgrade onto our computer that came with ME. This is after replacing the hard drive twice, and doing system recovery maybe 6 times. ME sucks.





First time it crashed, it erased all our info for our wedding, guest list, their contact info, who came, who gave us a gift...everyone was peeved when we didn't know who to send thank you's to.

 

ME = Devil incarnate.

 

This fixes ME so it runs better than 98.

ME Sucks... Tell him to switch OS's STAT! Then slap him in the back of the head for even using ME for the amount of time he did.

 

Yeah, I dont know what happened. I tryed installing XP over ME and that wouldnt even work. He didnt want to format so I gave him an extra drive I had laying around to run XP off of. PITA
