What's the big deal with shifting above 8500? I think i regularly see 8750 on the FD... At least that's what it looks like, I dunno what maz revs on the FD are.
I cant speak for anyone else, but Im still making good power above 9k. My car just keeps pulling. Buzzer, peg tach, pause, shift, repeat.

"Whoa man, no way your Mazda went 16 years without a rebuild ... You've gotta change your pistons dude, Rx-7 pistons are horrible ... "

Thats rich.

As far as the buzzer goes, a guy on the REPU forum just posted how to disable it.

I've met one person with an FD.

These are all people with t2's.

reason why rotaries have bad rep is because there are 30,000 members on rx7club.com. 27,000 of which are broke and bought a **** *** car that no one in their right mind would buy and says it breaks down too much because they fixed it wrong, can't fix it, or have no money to fix it.

I definitely think the major problem is that it's EASY to redline the car. You don't get all that negative feedback (vibration, powerloss)from the motor like in a piston engine. Plus 7's just beg to be beat...

Personally I don't give a **** about the rep they have, let the idiots get scared and drive something else.

While most piston engines sound like they're coming apart as they near redline, the rotary is very smooth at high revs. An ignorant driver might think it's cool to wind it past redline. These people are probably just brick dumb, or didn't have to pay for their car thanks to Daddy.
I wish I didn't have to pay for my car because my parents would pay for it..that woudl be hawt

I do hear about ricers blowing up their engines, hondas redline starts at 7 like fb's do.

And they are also N/A's. N/A rotaries dont blow as much as say turbo ones.
