It seems to me that girls like to be asked what's wrong, they usually don't just come out and say it. Of course, everyone does that. Something very personal might be bothering her. If it involves you, or relationships in general, try what I suggest below. If she's never been cold before, I wouldn't think it was like "female problems" or something. It might be a big deal.



If you've known each other for so long, but not became a couple, she must talk to you about guys and stuff, right? Does she talk to you about guys she likes, or that she thinks are cute? Or you could ask her, "any love interests lately?" See what comes up, it might turn out painful, if you like her, but she might also end up saying.."well, I haven't really been out with anyone lately, and there's this guy..." This could possibly be an obvious invitation to dating. My wife and I were best friends, always with each other, hanging out and such. Needless to say, it worked out.
