What Should I Do With My Fd?
#21
Too me it's all about passion. If the FD is your passion then make her better. but if it's just a car than sell her, buy a Supra and make that fast. Speed is only half of the whole. You Need a Car you feel confident about driving. If all these engines are popping why not port and get a single turbo?

Don't flame me. I was just stating that he should go with simplicity on the set-up. No need for you to act like a ******* over it.

Sell the FD, buy a mint condition FB, put a turbo on it. Go to www.ground-control.com call the owner, and see what suspension setup he recomends. Put on whatever other upgrades you want. Now you have a car that is faster and handles better than the FD, weighs less, has cost you MUCH less, and will be more reliable.
you think an FB with a live axle rear suspension will handle better than an independent rear suspension!?!?
yeah, Ford just decided to make the '03 cobras with IRS instead of the GT's live axle for the fun of it. rear independent suspension allows better control over camber and other suspension geometry throughout jounce and rebound, in addition to being lighter and lowering the sprung weight since the diff is mounted to the car.

also, reliability has to do with tuning and pushing a car to its limits. i imagine an FB with as much power as an FD will be much less reliable.
show me an FB that can pull over a G on the skid-pad and i will believe your assement that tuned FB's handle better than FD's.
i imagine a stock FD would outhandle the best tuned FB, assuming the main suspension components were kept the same (live rear axle, a-arms on front, etc. with only changes to shocks, springs, etc).
