Vintage Audio Thread!
I wouldn't put an ipod install in my car unless its concealed like you have it phins.. but thats the beauty of living in Los Angeles, your car window will get broken just to fetch something worth a couple of bux.. I still love the look of the old high end audio home systems.. although they are goin down.. Heck they are already in the works on having video games streamed digitally, without the requirement for a console, aswell as the online stores already in place via xbox live.. ttfn..
easy dude, I did not say people who buy and use them are retards!
Question asked was "how many ipods will be around in 23 years", and I gave my answer- which is probably none because there will be something else.
Your the one who attacked us vintage audio people, it is you who is the aggressor here!

yea good call, don't buy anything that will be outdated and replaced in 20 years
i give up, i can't keep up, the argument changes everytime I try to address is, first it was a fad that won't be around in 20 years, so i said I appreciate the convenience, then it was an inconvenience so I mentioned it wasn't all taht expensive, then no one in the world could possible listen to more the 20 to 50 songs, once i refuted that we were off to something else. I didn't attack at all in fact, i merely presented the reasons I don't adhear to your line of thinking when it comes to music.
I would be willing to bet a large sum of money that in 20 years they won't even be producing dvd's and cd's, it will be all digital delivery.

he asked who liked vintage audio or to tell your story, and you came on telling us to carry 10k songs with us and got on about this fad thing.
No one mentioned fads or song capacity, but when YOU mentioned 10k songs yes I did question listening to 10k songs, and partially to having the time to put 10k songs into a device.
So be happy with your Ipod, no one was trashing it, all I said was in 20 years there wont even be Ipods, there will be something else.
Last I checked you were allwed to do what you wanted, and I was allowed to do what I want, no need to get upset if I dont think carrying 10k songs with me is needed in my life.

Some people have enough Vinyl to fill a room...some of these people might want to take a portion of that collection and put it on their device to listen to it whilst jogging or in the car.
I had a pony when I was a little girl back in the old country and I loved her!

Here's some of my vintage equipment.
This is my current 2 channel setup.
Preamp is a Mac C-22, Power amp is a Mac MC-225. Digital front end is a modded Playstaion 1.
For vinyl I got a Music Hall mmf-5 with the glass platter.
Every piece of equipment is reworked with Auricap Capacitors and the sound is just awesome.
Nothing sounds better than vinyl!!!!!
