Anybody got anymore details on this? Im very intrested. What year is this suppose to happen?

 

whenever the mazdaspeed rx-8 is coming out, maybe this summer? or maybe it's next summer.

The Mazdaspeed RX8 will come out in the US soon, heard the over here (NO FORCED INDUCTION OF ANY KIND)



As for the Turbo and Supercharger--I asked Mazda on this a while back and they said no plan to ever make the (RX8) turbochargers or supercharged.



Im just curious more on the info since several kits are set to come out in April/May time frame..

 

consider for a second the fact that the mazdaspeed rx-8 weighs about 200 lbs more than stock, which means it will be a couple of tenths of a second slower to 60 mph, and maybe 0.4 seconds slow in 1/4 mile.



americans are hungry for power, especially cheap power. enter the sti, evolution, and srt-4. few people, as a result, will spend $5000+ more on a car that is slower than stock, simply because it handles better and looks faster.



as a result, in order for mazda to sell an official "mazdaspeed" rx-8 here in america, they will need to increase HP over stock.



if not, they should just keep selling the mazdaspeed kits by themselves so customers can spend their own money and do whatever they want to the car separate from mazda.

People need to care about this vehicles weak drivetrain. When the vehicle is being prommoted like a serious sports car but can't take the abuse of a sports car and a person pays 31,000 plus dollars then you have to care.



There is no recall on the transmission or diff. and they will not be any recalls. You could say I'm not your average driver. Up to date I only know of 2 cases of broken down parts due to hard driving. Don't get me wrong I love the Rx8. It's just not built for my insanity.

WE WANT ANOTHER RX-7!

 

There was an article in superstreet this month that had a hydrogen renesis engine, and attached to the engine was a turbo charger.



"Mazda has been testing this new Renesis Hydrogen Rotary Engine in an RX-8, which was also on display at Tokyo. Mazda has also been busy working on some other unique Renesis concepts as well. The Mazda Hybrid System couples a motor, an inverter, and a 144-volt battery to the new rotary. The electric-motor-assist turbocharger (shown) really caught our eye. At 1,000RPM, an electric motor helps spool up the turbo. At higher RPMs, the turbo works in a traditional fashion."
