Whats so wierd about silicon? Not like its gona weld itself to the plug, just a temporary fix.

Every bolt holding the pan on and the pan itself on my car has been siliconed. Same with my previous car. It stops leaks before they start.

My entire oil pan was siliconed by Gotham when installed on my ported reman. No leaks (yet)

Why is silicon up for debate, lol





For as often as you're doing oil changes, don't use it on an oil drain plug, use a copper washer or a steel washer with an o-ring, if it's a problem at all



Silicon will work, I'd hate to keep buffing the surface and reapplying every oil change







FYI I bought an FC a while ago with silicone all around the oil cooler fittings off the block.. it worked but man was it gangster looking

LOL, well he made it sound complicated using the term "gasket".



If you just changed your oil and don't want to change it again to replace the washer, use silicon for now.
