Now if you buy dry carbon (very expensive) then you would paint it because it looks like ***, but it weighs nothing. I very seriously doubt you have a dry carbon hood unless you payed 3k + for it....
Fiber glass = cheap and light, but weak
Wet carbon = pretty, kina expensive, light, but weak
Dry carbon = ugly, super ******* expensive, super light, and very strong
so basicly by buying a wet carbon hood and painting it you wasted a bunch of $, unless you bought it used for cheap off sombody

I have a S5 TII, and my dad has a Silver FD, they sit next to each other in the driveway every day. I have drivin both many times and hands down I think my FC is more tough looking, and does my dad. FC's just have a nice bulldog stance. The only reason kids in hondas **** their pants when a FD rolls up next to them is because they saw the fast and the furious. 90% of the people on the road didnt know what a RX-7 was or what it looked like before that movie. If the movie had featured a TII they would be scared shitless of us too. I actually get more people scared to race me when I'm in the FC than the FD. They know now what a FD is and what it can do, but nobody knows the mysteries that lye beneath the hood of the TII, they're just like "thats a RX-7??? but...but...it doesn't look like one." haha then i laugh at them. Had a kid in a VR-4 fly up on my *** on the freeway thinkin i was some integ or somethin at night, then he got there and didnt want to race anymore. Dont get me wrong the FD is badass, but it gets more "nice car" and the FC gets the "oh my god I've never seen that before." looks. Just my .02
