rotary doesnt have to power sports cars

yes - mazda is trying to push the rx8 towards a sports car status....but if families buy it - and it works well - maybe theyll start to understand and use rotary for more than sports cars

I agree, a rotary doesn't have to power a sports car. Its a great idea behind the rx8. But untill issues like gas mileage are resolved, it isn't going to appeal to the average person. Its an engine that gets poor gas mileage like a sports car without the sports car sorta speak. And to those looking for a sports car its gona be too much like a family car.

well lets see, if you to go a stop light, and there was a civic next to you.... which car do you think they would be scared of? i think the FD would make them crap their pants. i mean dont get me wrong hooked up FB's and stock or hooked up FC's can be mean looking..... but FD's have that mean intimidating factor
rice is afraid of my car. they see the "turbo II" on the side and give respect. i pulled up next some riced integra with rims and exhaust and he didn't even revv his engine at the light. i figured he was faking, so i pulled off quick, and he didn't try anything. i haven't gotten a street race in a real long time, which i guess God is preventing, guess he doesn't want me to get killed or get a ticket

but then again, my FC is pretty mean looking, and in good shape, so the rice fears me. i've gotten in a few highway races with a saleen mustang and a nice eclipse gs-t, but other than that, nothin.

and by the way, the miata is a car designed for 50 yr old middle aged blue collar men going through a mid-life crisis and women, not for sports car enthusuasts ...just my opinion. but admit it, the new miatas did take styling cues from the good FD looks, and since i so very rarely see FD's, when a see a miata from a distance, i optomisically think it's a FD, and i'm dissapointed to see it's just a CHICK in a miata

Lol, I dunno about that. Maybe you should drive way, then hopefully your opinion will change. Miatas are very nimble little cars, I'd really love to drop an SR20 in one...

I don't get it... someone voted the RX-8 over the 1st gen? You've all gone mad!

And how you all say a FD looks like a exotic that's good and all, but once you strap on that bodykit they look tough as all hell.
