Alright, I'm at work and I'm talking with one of the engineers when I see a torque calcualtor on his desk. What this thing has is saying is that regardless of the engine making the power, the torque is only dependent upon the horsepower and rpm speed. ie a diesel and a wankel with equal horsepower will create equal torque at equal rpm's. Does this sound weird to anyone else? The formula for torque is HP times 5252/RPM but is there any exception to this. If this always holds true why are peoples torque curves different on cars with the same HP?

I'm so ******* confused right now my brain hurts.

HELP!
